Protect Your Table with Glass
Tables are central to homes, offices and outdoor entertaining areas. When a glass top breaks, chips or no longer fits safely, a measured replacement can restore the table without replacing the whole piece of furniture.
Jim’s Glass can help with dining tables, coffee tables, outdoor settings, desks and boardroom tables. The right glass depends on how the top is supported, its size and shape, and the way the table is used.
For new protective overlays and other custom projects, see our broader custom glass table top service.
Replace Broken Table Glass Promptly
Keep people and pets away from the area, avoid handling cracked glass with bare hands and do not continue using a top that has lost safe support. If the breakage creates an immediate hazard, contact our emergency glass replacement team.
A glazier can assess the furniture, remove remaining glass where agreed and confirm whether the support points are suitable for a replacement.
A Replacement Made for the Table
Standard dimensions are not enough for an irregular or handmade table. A detailed measure or physical template can capture curved sides, clipped corners, internal cut-outs and the exact position of supports.
Before manufacture, your glazier will confirm the shape, glass type, thickness, edge finish and any holes or cut-outs. These details cannot be changed after toughened glass has been processed.
Glass and Edge Options
Clear or tinted glass
The appearance should suit the furniture and room. Available tones and low-iron options vary, so compare a current sample where colour matters.
Polished edges
Exposed edges can be finished for a smoother, more refined appearance. The appropriate edgework depends on the design and support.
Suitable safety glass
The glass specification must suit the size, support and intended use. Your glazier will explain the appropriate option for the table.
Insurance Documentation When Needed
Some accidental glass damage may be covered by home or business insurance, depending on the policy and excess. Jim’s Glass can provide a quote or job information for an approved claim, but your insurer decides whether the loss is covered.
